Today is the hottest day of the year so far and it’s even great that we are all at home to enjoy the day. Most of the day has been spent in the garden soaking up the sun. It’s nice to see our garden spring back to life with beautiful blossoms which are pleasing to the eye.
The sunny weather this week is a great opportinity for me to start topping up on my vitamin D levels which we all now know is very important for our health. Having darker skin means that I need to spend more time in the sun than someone with lighter skin. There are supplements being sold for preventing vitamin D deficiency but I prefer to get mine naturally. I normally try to stay out in the sun for at least 30 minutes at a time mainly exposing my face, arms and lower legs. Like everything else in life, I think the sun should be enjoyed in moderation.
I don’t know about you but the sun and the lighter days always seems to lift my mood. It’s just what I needed after the cold and dark days of winter. Yes, I have too sprung to life!Last modified on
